Blog - Slog... Who Needs ‘Em?
At first glance, a blog appears to be a cross between a
‘hard to change’ website and a ‘latest news’ email message.
But that’s just for starters... Though blogsites can have pictures and a few frills, a big
feature is that it’s so easy to put stories, sentences, and snippets there for the whole
world to see.
A BLOG gets part of its name from LOG, which we all know has a bit of ‘date of entry’
to it. Blogs present their POSTS in a decending ‘diary’ format. You know, newest is on
top. At the end of the month, those posts (and comments are archived and noted in
the “ARCHIVE LIST” on the side of the screen. The latest is always IN YOUR FACE!
Whoever creates the blog in the beginning chooses whether to allow anyone like you
and I to leave a comment. This is juicy stuff ‘cuz the blog owner gets valuable
feedback of what you and I think and need.
The frosting on this tasty cake is that we can SUBSCRIBE to this blog and others too.
Rather than us having to ‘go check’ to see if there’s any new stuff, we can SUBSCRIBE
to it just like a magazine or newspaper. New stuff will automatically be posted on our
computer for us to click on... more about that later...
